Jonathan is a stateman - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has praise the statemanship of his
predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan,
describing him in glowing terms in
his inaugural speech shortly after
taking the oath of office as the president of Nigeria.

Jonathan lost to Buhari in the
March 28 presidential election and promptly conceded defeat to the
opposition candidate.

He said, “I would like to thank President Goodluck Jonathan for
his display of statesmanship in
setting a precedent for us that has
now made our people proud to be
Nigerians wherever they are.

“With the support and cooperation
he has given to the transition process, he has made it possible
for us to show the world that despite the perceived tension in
the land we can be a united people capable of doing what is right for our nation.” Buhari said his predecessor’s
quick concession of defeat has made Nigeria and Nigerians proud all over the world.

He there urged
Nigerian politicians to emulate Jonathan.
